Romantic and impressive Grade II listed Edwardian country house sitting high on a hill in sweeping parkland which leads down to a lake and Boathouse. The original Georgian house, built in 1760, was extensively remodelled in 1905 however much of the Georgian proportions remain at the South end of the house. The interior is highly embellished with intricate plasterwork ceilings, wooden carving and panelling, a large stained glass window, a drawing room lined in Edwardian damask and tiled bathrooms dating back to 1905. On one side of the house is a 70ft conservatory or Winter Garden containing climbing plants, palms and perennials all year round. A colonnade and terraced formal gardens with topiary and garden statuary overlook the park. The magnificent stables and stable yard is accessed through an imposing carved stone gateway at the North end of the house.
