Fring Estate is a private estate and working farm situated in the sleepy hamlet of Fring, West Norfolk. At the heart of the Estate is Fring Hall, originally built in 1807, Fring Hall was a show mansion of West Norfolk, with extensive gardens and pleasure grounds. However, during the early hours of Saturday 23rd 1934, the mansion caught fire. Sadly, due to an extreme drought suffered by southern England from 1933 to 1934, only a few hundred gallons of water were available to fight the blaze, and by 4am the show mansion was a scorched ruin. Fring Hall was rebuilt, however, in 1936 as a close copy of the original, but with some modernisation. The new Hall was built with comfort and entertaining in mind, with a layout in keeping with modern country houses of the time. Fring Hall is surrounded by extensive grounds, including parkland with ancient trees, farmland and formal gardens, including The Walled Garden. Dotted throughout the Estate are thoughtfully restored holiday cottages, available to hire all year round. The Estate is also close to the parish church, which sits atop a hill overlooking the grounds.
